25 Tricia Tidbits!

I’m a vegetarian.

My favorite color is blue. All shades.

I was born and raised on eastern Long Island.

Besides New York, I’ve lived in Vermont, Boston, and San Francisco.

I’m an amateur quilter.

This hobby was prompted by my love of floral fabric. For skirts, dresses, table linens, bags, pillows—anything!

My favorite TV show of all time is Gilmore Girls.

I think beets are delicious. Brussels sprouts, too.

I’m part Polish and Ukranian.

While writing I often switch between several mellow Pandora stations, including Bon Iver, Fleet Foxes, Yanni and Enya.

I love when it’s warm enough to wear flip-flops.

And sundresses.

After paying zero attention to professional sports for most of my life, thanks to my husband, I’m now a huge NY Giants fan. Go, Eli!

I get up between 5 and 5:30 each morning to write.

The Melting of Maggie Bean was inspired by some of my own experiences as an overweight ‘tween.

It also started as an assignment in a graduate creative writing class, turned into my MFA thesis, and, in a dream come true, eventually sold to Simon & Schuster.

While I no longer have the sweet tooth I used to, I still enjoy the occasional self-serve vanilla fro-yo topped with Reese’s Pieces.

I love swimming and the beach. I do not love swimming AT the beach.

As much as I love the beach, I might love the desert more.

I have an older brother and a younger sister.

I’ve watched every season of the Bachelor and Bachelorette.

Christmas is my favorite holiday, and we may or may not start decorating in October.

I met my husband in a creative writing class.

I have a thing for dinnerware and will soon need more kitchen cabinets.

If I could do anything anywhere, I’d do what I do right where I am!
